Corrections
We try hard to get every figure right, and we still expect to make mistakes. When we do, we correct them quickly and openly.
How to report an error
Use the address on our contact page. The most helpful reports include the page address, the sentence or number in question, and why you think it is wrong. A manufacturer data sheet, code section or published source is ideal but not required. We read every report.
What happens next
- We check it. We verify the report against primary sources and our shared engineering reference, usually within a few business days.
- We fix it everywhere. If a figure is wrong, we fix it on every page and calculator that uses it, not only the page that was reported.
- We log it. Substantive corrections (anything that could change a decision, a safety step or a calculation result) are listed below with the date. Typos and wording changes are fixed without a log entry.
- We update the date. The page's "Updated" date changes to reflect the correction.

Clarifications versus corrections
Sometimes a page is accurate but easy to misread. We treat those as clarifications: we rewrite the passage and, if the change matters to how readers act on it, note it in the log as a clarification. See our editorial standards for the full policy.
